Flu Information

Flu Vaccination

You will be invited to receive your annual flu vaccination if you are 65 or over, or you fall in to certain risk groups.  The advice from the surgery is that you should attend to have this vaccination.

If you are eligible to receive this vaccination you will receive a letter.  On the back of this letter is your consent form, this should be bought in with you when you are going to be vaccinated.

You can ring the surgery and book an appointment with out Practice Nurse to be vaccinated.

If you have an egg allergy then we cannot give the routinely used flu jab.  You should ring the Church Avenue Surgery and ask to speak to Louise who can arrange an egg free preparation.  A special appointment will also be given to you to see the Practice Nurse.  You should NOT attend the special Saturday clinic.

Housebound Patients - please ring the surgery if you are eligible to receive the flu vaccination and you want to be vaccinated.  We will then request the District Nurse to visit you at home.  Once you have telephoned your name will be put on a list.  We will be unable to give you a specific time when this vaccination will be given as we do not hold the District Nurses diary, they will also be very busy over this time so please be patient.

If you require any further information please contact the surgery and ask to speak to Louise.
